Access MysSql Database Remotely?

Solution

Under the mysql header in Cpanel, select 'manage mysql'

Then scroll down to the 'access hosts' input field. Place your IP address (your local computer not the server)in there and click 'add host'.

This should allow you to remotely connect using your database username/password.

2
Backup a Database using phpmyadmin

Solution

Backing up your database in Phpmyadmin is accomplished by doing the following:
1) Once you have reached the PHPMyadmin screen, select the database you want to back up.
2) Select the 'export' tab on the top right of the screen.
3) Scroll down the page and click 'Save as file' and click on the 'go' button.
This will save a copy of your database on your local computer.

3
Add a mysql database in Cpanel

Solution

To create a MySQL database:

- Go to 'Manage Mysql' under the database header in Cpanel

- In the DB text field, type the name you wish to give your database
- Click the Add DB button
- At the bottom of MySQL Manager under 'Users' type a database user name and password
- Click the Add User button

Now for the important part that everyone misses:

You should now see your new user listed in the dropdown menu after "User:" and your new database listed in the "DB:" dropdown menu. (if you don't try refreshing the page in your browser) Then, select BOTH the username AND the DATABASE NAME and click the Add User to DB button to add your user to your database and you're done.

Now that you have created a database, created a database user and have granted that user access to the database your mysql database is fully ready to use.

Policy on SPAM?

Solution

We have a zero tolerance policy on SPAM. if you do it, your account will be terminated immediately.

4
Limit the amount of mails I can send per hour?

Solution

Yes, we do. The amount of mails sent per hour is limited to 1500 per user. We do this to minimize the impact of spammers who may sign up with us and get by our initial checks.

Once you've hit this limit, mail will bounce with the 'unrouteable domain' error in the bounce message. The only way around this error is to wait until the hour is up.

3) FTP

1
Problems with FTP Connection

Solution

Please note that our Windows FTP servers require Passive Mode to be enabled in your FTP client. If you are having problems connecting or listing directory contents, then it is likely that Passive Mode is not enabled in your FTP client. The exact way to enable this will be specific to your chosen software, so you should check the documentation which comes with your software for further details.

If you are using FileZilla 2.x, you can find this option in the Site Manager, by selecting a site and clicking on the Advanced button. In FileZilla 3.x, you can globally select the transfer mode by using the Settings -> Connection menu

2
Upload Files

Solution

We support FTP (along with FTP compatible software) and Frontpage to upload files

you can also used File Manager for uploading files through control panel

FTP :-

ftp.yourdomianname.com

user name:- user name

pass:

4) CGI and PHP scripting

1
cURL with my account

Solution

Yes, all of our servers have cURL enabled. The path to cURL is /usr/bin/curl

2
Own CGI/perl programs

Solution

Place your CGI programs in the cgi-bin directory. Be sure to upload them in ASCII mode.

Make sure to change permissions to 755 for the script. (you can easily do this with your FTP program). ALL cgi scripts MUST be chmod 755 in order to work.

You can access your perl scripts via http://www.yourname.com/cgi-bin/script-name

3
File not found

Solution

Make sure that you have uploaded to the cgi-bin. Make sure that you are trying to access the script by http://www.yourdomain.com/cgi-bin/scriptname

If you have made absolutely sure of both of those, there is no reason you should be seeing a 404 'file not found' error.
